Eligibility
The minimum qualification required to pursue the above mentioned B.Tech course is 12th class from a recognised board with Science stream(PCM).

Candidates should clear Class 12th in any stream from a recognised school.
Duration
The duration of B.Tech course is 4 years with 2 semesters per year throughout India as per notification by the AICTE
B.TECH
B.Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology. It is an undergraduate level programme that is pursued by science stream students after the completion of Class 12th with Science stream. The four year programme is offered by engineering colleges across India. Many technology schools also use the term B.E or Bachelor of Engineering for the professional engineering undergraduate programmes. However, as far as India is concerned, only the nomenclature of the programme is different while the syllabus and teaching pedagogy is the same for both the programmes.Students who have taken PCM or Physics Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are preferred for the programme.
There is also a lateral entry scheme to B.Tech programme that is offered to students holding a Diploma degree in engineering domains. Students who have joined Diploma programmes after Class 10 or Class 12 in technical trades can seek admission to B.Tech programmes offered by engineering colleges in India.

A Job at a PSU (Public Sector Undertaking)
PSUs include the companies that are partially owned by the state or central or both government sectors. Some of the popular PSU companies include BHEL, LIC, Hindustan Copper Limited, and NALCO.
After completing B.Tech, you can enter PSUs and get a lucrative job. You can get a job either on a permanent or contractual, or temporary basis. PSUs recruit employees based on two categories:
• with a valid GATE score
• without a GATE score
The PSUs that appoint employees based on the GATE score announce the required GATE score for application every year.

Time of exams
Exams usually take place in the month of June & admit cards can be downloaded a few weeks before the exams. The results are declared in the month of September every academic year.
